Beer Release: Bet Yer Boots Brut IPA

640 675 City Star Brewing

A new City Star beer hits the taps this weekend. Bet Yer Boots Brut is a Brut IPA, a champagne-like beer with delicious hop flavor, low bitterness and an extremely dry finish. It was brewed with El Dorado, Amarillo, and Citra hops (whirlpool additions), and then dry hopped with Mosaic hops… a cocktail of tropical hops aroma and flavor to compliment the dry finish at 7% abv. Growlers welcome!

Wood Belly

Wood Belly Bluegrass Band

640 675 City Star Brewing

Wood Belly blends traditional bluegrass with modern songwriting and whether you’re spinning your partner around or hanging on every word, the result is the same. You’re left smiling and wanting more. 2018 has been an exciting year as the group released their debut album, “Solid Ground” and won the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition.

Wood Belly was born when Chris Weist (Mandolin) met Craig Patterson (Guitar) and Chris Zink (Dobro) at the Rockygrass Festival in 2015. Within a year, they had teamed up with Aaron McCloskey (Banjo) and Taylor Shuck (Bass) and the music immediately fell into place. Since then the band has played at an ever-expanding list of great venues including the Mishawaka amphitheater, the Fox Theater (Boulder), and Cervantes (Denver). Their festival resume includes the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Rapidgrass, the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown, the Keystone Bluegrass and Beer Festival, The Wyoming State Bluegrass and BBQ festival, Snowygrass, Grapes and Grass, and more.

City Star is 7!

150 150 City Star Brewing

City Star Brewing opened its doors in small town Berthoud, Colorado 7 years ago. Berthoud was thirsty, drank City Star near dry, and the new craft brewery had to close the following weekend to catch up. Fast forward to 2019 City Star has expanded its brewhouse cellar and more than doubled the taproom seating capacity with a beautiful taproom addition, barrel house and outdoor beer garden. A few Great American Beer Festival medals, a cease-and-desist letter (from a winery), and 100+ beers later City Star has become a destination for locals and craft beer lovers alike.

Saturday, May 4th City Star Brewing officially celebrates 7 years of beers with two new beers, live music all day, two food trucks, reopening of the deputy mug club program, $10 commemorative t-shirts, free beers …and the annual cupcake toast.

Taproom doors open at noon with the release of Granatum sour pomegranate barrel aged kölsch in bottles and on tap. The beerslingers collaborated to formulate and brew their own beer just for the occasion. The result is Salud, a watermelon tajín wheat featuring lime zest, sea salt and habaneros ???.

She’s back and better than ever!

The newest creation from the City Star Zoller Barrel House – the 2019 vintage of Scarlet is a blend of sour stout aged in oak barrels for 2 years, sour imperial stout aged in oak barrels for 2.5 years, and Michigan Montmorency cherries. Soured with lactobacillus and pediococcus bacteria as well as brettanomyces yeast. The beer has a velvety smooth mouthfeel. Luscious waves of cocoa roll along the tongue, and the cherry sweetness rounds out the sour flavor profile. Each bottle is dipped in wax and hand stamped with the City Star Brewing seal.

The Seers

640 675 City Star Brewing

The Seers, an experimental folk-rock duo from Fort Collins, CO, have transformed their shared passion for great songs into a walking, talking, modern-day jukebox of musical versatility. With a “stunning repertoire” of over 700 covers and 100 originals spanning from alternative rock to Americana country, the Seers deliver sing-along performances that bring people closer together.

As a duo, three-piece, four-piece, and five-piece band, Seers perform at regional festivals (SXSW 2015 Colorado Music Showcase), weddings (in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado), private events, restaurants, bars, breweries, memorials, markets, and more. With over fifteen years of collaboration, it easy to see why they’re in high regional demand: they love to play.

As prolific songwriters and aspiring recording artists, Collins and Waters have been recording and releasing albums as The Seers since 2010. Their first was an underground, stream-of-consciousness EP titled “Universal Tree.” Two eclectic rock albums followed: “The Seers” (2013) and “Cellophane Eyes” (2014). In 2016, in collaboration with Danny Kalb (Beck, Ben Harper, and Foster the People), The Seers released the indie folk EP “Signals” to critical acclaim. Their fourth release, the full-length “Better Days” is out May 13th, 2017
