Amanda Oberbroeckling joins us at City Star Beer School for a special presentation on how to taste beer from a sensory perspective. Amanda is the lead lab technician and sensory specialist at Odd 13 in Lafayette, Colorado. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at Colorado School of Mines she combined her education with her passion for craft beer. After 1 year of brewing at Odd 13 Amanda was tasked with creating and running the quality control lab, which after 2 years boasts one of the most robust quality programs and labs in Colorado for their production size. Amanda is active in the Pink Boots Society and is the recipient of the 2019 American Society of Brewing Chemist scholarship. Motivated to share her knowledge on brewery quality control, Amanda’s unique presentation on sensory analysis is not to be missed.
