She’s back and better than ever!

The newest creation from the City Star Zoller Barrel House – the 2019 vintage of Scarlet is a blend of sour stout aged in oak barrels for 2 years, sour imperial stout aged in oak barrels for 2.5 years, and Michigan Montmorency cherries. Soured with lactobacillus and pediococcus bacteria as well as brettanomyces yeast. The beer has a velvety smooth mouthfeel. Luscious waves of cocoa roll along the tongue, and the cherry sweetness rounds out the sour flavor profile. Each bottle is dipped in wax and hand stamped with the City Star Brewing seal.

Emily Barnes

960 960 City Star Brewing

“Emily Barnes is more than just a musician; she is a storyteller that sets the lives of her characters to music. Her sophomore release ‘Let in the Light’ should be both required reading and listening for anyone who feels or has felt fractured by life ”
— Divide and Conquer

Tucked away in a town so tiny it isn’t found on most maps, singer-songwriter Emily Barnes can be found sitting on the stone steps of her 200 year old home stitching together the latest melody from the fabric of her mind. That is on the rare occasion she is home. For the past few years, Emily has been tirelessly trekking down the open road playing venues of all shapes and sizes stopping listeners dead in their tracks with a voice that cuts to the bone and songs that pull on the heart strings.

Now a nationally touring artist, Barnes continues to build a grassroots following from city to small town, one new believer at a time. Her Sophomore album ‘Let in the Light’ was released on March 10th 2017 and has been taking listeners through the nostalgia of finding oneself after the inevitable darkness seeps in. It is honest, it is raw, and as quirky as the show you are likely to experience. With an assortment of “found” instruments, lo-fi birds, pots and pans, this album paints a picture from start to finish.

There is a feeling one gets when witnessing something authentic and rare, and that aura permeates the room at an Emily Barnes show.

Billy Shaddox Duo

578 289 City Star Brewing

“Shaddox hails from Colorado, and is the rare songwriter who seems to have a natural knack for crafting a pop song, and a deep understanding of what makes one great. And “I Melt, I Howl” is truly great. With the softness of Tweedy and the sweetness of Mikal Cronin, Shaddox has truly found his sound with Howl. His breakout record is folksy Americana-rock, with the smoothest of melodies and vocal harmonies, and will hopefully earn Shaddox some much-deserved attention.” – Glide Magazine Album Review, 2015
