DESCRIPTION:Deliberate Kin is shaking up their tiny part of the world. Alex and Amanda Jo are a husband and wife duo\, traveling full-time as musicians with their two young daughters. Although Alex has been playing guitar for 21 years\, he can pick around on nearly any instrument you place in his hands. His style is a bold blend of flat-picking run-away melodies while simultaneously holding down a driving bluegrass bass beat. Amanda Jo started singing and performing at the age of 8 and went on to earn her Fine Arts degree in college. Equal parts charisma and power\, her voice and stage presence have been described as mesmerizing. With nearly 50 years of entertainment between the two of them\, you are guaranteed a great show! They dare to bring light and joy with them wherever they travel and they’ll gladly share it with you. Their show starts with smiles\, builds you up with laughter and leaves you with hope and high-fives. Songs full of emotions\, sweet harmonies and warm acoustic tones wash over you. Every story they tell is laced with humor and rings with truth and you can’t help but be encouraged and empowered because of it. DESCRIPTION:We welcome Brian Collins of The Seers for a special solo performance. \nWriter\, vocalist\, pianist\, and multi-instrumentalist Brian Collins has seen the world through music since he was six. Blind from birth\, Brian’s father taught him drums and keyboard at an early age. He then learned tuba\, trumpet\, bass\, guitar\, and synthesizers. He now writes music as he swims\, working out complex arrangements that he’ll later perform on drums\, piano and guitar. \nIn 1999\, Brian was studying music at UNC-Greeley\, but “sight-reading” classical music required too many hours of monotonously memorizing sheet music. Deciding to re-focus on his own progressive rock music\, Brian began building a career as a musical performer and writer. \nWorking odd jobs\, Brian transferred back CSU and eventually earned a B.A. in Social Work in 2013 – the same time he was training at a Fort Collins Piano bar and beginning to see a way to sustain himself through performing music with the Seers and as a solo pianist / vocalist. \nBrian has since worked professionally as a musician\, and is excited to share his newest songs in creative new ways. \nWhen he’s not doing the business of writing\, performing and networking for the Seers\, spends his free time swimming\, writing\, and taking care of his family and friends.
