SUMMARY:Mascot Theory Duo
DESCRIPTION:The Mascot Theory has been kicking around Wisconsin weekend-warrior style for the past decade\, but like many musicians\, the great pandemic-induced entertainment halt of 2020 forced the band to reflect and refocus musical efforts. With the core foundation of singer/songwriter Erik Kjelland and the rhythm section of Nick Fry on bass guitar and Paul Metz on drums\, The Mascot Theory used this time off to slightly shift their sound away from their acoustic-driven folk-rock music and into a more classic rock inspired Rock and Roll groove\, especially thanks to the addition of lead guitarist Cory Swadley who brings a strong musical swagger and reverence to the guitar gods of the past. In 2021 the band made a major leap towards a more national focus when they were discovered and signed by manager Chuck Toler of TolerVision LLC\, who helped steer the careers of artists like Cheap Trick and Mudvayne. Toler circulated the band’s music around to trusted colleagues in the business leading to famed producer Terry Manning (Led Zeppelin\, ZZ Top\, Shakira\, Lenny Kravitz\, Stax Record) taking an interest in the band and agreeing to produce their next full-length album that will be released in 2023. In April 2022 Manning and the band assembled at Sonic Ranch Studios near El Paso\, TX to record 15 songs. \nAlong with a WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) win for Best Male Vocalist (Erik Kjelland) and many WAMI nominations for Best Americana/folk artist\, The Mascot Theory has won over 20 MAMA (Madison Area Music Association) awards including Artist of the Year.  They have played major festivals throughout Wisconsin including Summerfest\, Freak Fest\, and Mile of Music Festival\, and have shared the stage with BoDeans\, America\, Don McLean\, Vance Joy\, Frank Turner\, Chase Rice\, Kaleo\, The Wild Feathers\, Guster\, Blitzen Trapper\, Cory Chisel\, Andy Frasco and the UN\, Miles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts\, American Aquarium\, and Lillie Mae. \nThe new music travels into its classic rock influences; harmonies that bring to mind the Eagles or Poco\, a bit of that Rolling Stones guitar swagger\, a little ZZ Top blues rock\, a dash of the Pink Floyd mood\, but never straying far from the core of the Tom Petty/Beatle-esque importance of solid melody and lyrics. While performing live\, she covers a wide assortment of songs from Nirvana\, Chris Stapleton\, The Cranberries\, Post Malone\, Billie Eilish\, Fleetwood Mac and beyond. She’s guaranteed to play something for everyone.  She has been sponsored by White Claw\, Modelo\, and Blue Moon brewing companies to perform live at bars and restaurants across Northern Colorado. \nChristine’s love and passion for music extends past just performing live. Her original score for the short independent film\, “Chords” by Emmy Award winning cinematographer John Barnhardt\, won Best Original Score in both the Moscow Film Fest & the New World Film Festival. The film was accepted by the LA Shorts Film Festival\, making the film eligible to qualify for an Oscar.  The film has many accolades and is in film festivals nationally and in cities all over the world. Christine wrote and performed music as well as acted in the film. \nOn top of all of that\, Christine teaches guitar and piano lessons to students of all ages privately and works with The Matthews House to give at risk youth kids lessons. She hosts open mics and jams at different bars around Northern Colorado and joins local bands like Amorphic and All Night Train on stage. Her cover band\, “The Canyon Echos” plays all over Northern Colorado. With 3 powerhouse female singers\, a lead guitarists that will melt your face and a drummer that will keep you groovin the whole show! \nChristine was born and raised in Fort Collins and the mountains just west of the city. She often claims that she has been singing since the womb. She picked up the guitar while traveling the world as a backpacker. Always loving to sing\, she began playing the guitar so she could accompany herself and make music come alive on her own. DESCRIPTION:Alex Reisenweber is a singer/songwriter based out of Fort Collins\, Co. His music is a blend of bluegrass\, folk and americana with a dash of classic rock. From heart broken love songs to comedic talking blues to high-energy fast paced bluegrass\, there is something for everyone in his live show. Born and raised in the Midwest\, Alex grew an appreciation for all types of music. He began his writing and performing career in 1999 as a college student in Manhattan\, KS. A self-taught musician\, Alex honed his skills around many late-night campfires with friends and other musicians. As a student at Kansas State University\, he helped form multiple bands and played extensively at regional watering holes and festivals. In 2015 Alex joined americana group Sons of the Republic. With them he played mandolin and recorded a full-length album called “Fire on the Prairie”. In 2017 Alex set out fulltime on the road playing as a folk duo called Deliberate Kin. They released a full-length album called “Things Happen”. In 2020 Alex found himself settling down in Colorado and has now pursued a career as a solo performer. His live show is full of straight forward lyrics and unique guitar playing resulting in songs that are relatable\, sometimes humorous and full of real-life emotions.
