Their award-winning songwriting (Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk finalists\, and Americana Fest\, Nacogdoches winner) is front and center in their shows and draws from a deep well of musical and life experience. Most of all\, McLeod Nine want their audiences to be energized\, inspired and to have fun! (For example\, One of the highlights of their shows is Christy getting the audience to dance a simple Irish Ceili dance.) \nGordon and Christy McLeod’s eclectic music spans a wide range of worlds including Americana\, Celtic\, Folk\, Irish\,  Swing and Django-jazz\,  Bluegrass and Cajun. In a world of trendy and ever narrowing genres\, McLeod Nine‘s shows offer a refreshingly varied pallet of styles and textures.  While the roots of their musical tree are the  American and Celtic  traditions \, the branches cover a wide patch of ground strewn with multi-colored leaves of blues\, jazz\, and even classical hues. Christy says ” We want to make sure in our shows that the next song is always something different from the last one!” \nMcLeod Nine have toured extensively in USA playing festivals\, listening rooms and theaters and have traveled to Ireland over 20 times and studied traditional Irish music and dance at The University of Limerick. Gordon is a well-respected traditional Irish fiddle player and is sought after as a fiddle camp instructor. DESCRIPTION:Free flapjacks\, breakfast beer flights\, vintage cars\, 50’s dress\, support for the Berthoud Historical Society and the Flapjack Queen Contest. \nFLAPJACK DAY HISTORY \nIn 1948 the Town of Berthoud created “Flapjack Day” to be celebrated on Labor Day to bring neighbors together and visitors from afar to enjoy one of the simple pleasures in life… flapjacks. \nFrom 1948 to 1958 the local Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce hosted Flapjack Day in Berthoud Town Park that drew hordes of people to “The Garden Spot.” On the first Flapjack Day (1948) an estimated 1\,000 persons descended on Berthoud to devour 5\,000 free pancakes. By 1949\, The Berthoud Bulletin announced that 3\,700 visitors from 21 states downed a whopping 7\,400 flapjacks. Over its eleven-year span\, Flapjack Day grew to include the crowning of a Flapjack Queen. spike-driving\, swimming and diving contests\, a baton twirling competition\, pet-and-doll parades\, a pig catching scramble\, a tractor driving challenge. The last Flapjack Day was held in 1959 when the Chamber of Commerce decided to cancel; the event due to the high cost of hosting such a spectacle. \nCity Star Brewing brought this annual tradition back to life in 2015: giving away 1\,000 flap jacks\, raising $1\,000 for the Berthoud Historical Society\, and crowning the first Flapjack Queen in 50 years – Caitlin Ascher. \nSchedule and Info below… stay tuned for 2025 details! \n  \nSCHEDULE OF EVENTS \n11am-3pm: FREE Flapjacks\n11am-5pm: Breakfast Beer Flights\n11am-1pm: Vintage Car Show\n1:30: Flapjack Queen Contest\n3-5pm: Live Music with Vern Neeley Vibe\n\nSign up to participate in the Flapjack Queen Contest in the taproom\nIf you would like to participate in the car show please contact Ron at: ron1@meiningautomotive.com

DESCRIPTION:VNV is a Jazz Group comprised of 3-6 members with the core revolving around Vern Neeley on saxophones and vocals\, Kathryn Ballard Shut on piano\, Mark Brostrom on bass\, and Jimmy Kolodziej on percussion and guitar.\nOur music is based in the tradition and style of some of the greatest musicians of all time\, like Sonny Rollins\, Dexter Gordon\, Horace Silver\, Coleman Hawkins\, Grover Washington Jr.\, Frank Sinatra\, Dean Martin and Michael Bublé.\nVern has been performing professionally for nearly 30 years\, sharing the stage with legends such as Arturo Sandoval\, Jack Jones\, Dianne Schuur\, Lou Rawls\, Louis Bellson\, and Clark Terry just to name a few. Vern has been collaborating with Relentless recording artist Jimmy Kolodziej of ‘Jim Jamm Jimmy’ for the past 5 years and has recorded two full length albums with JJJ\, ‘#1 Contender’ and ‘Bad Influence (Live and Off Color)’.\nCurrently\, the VNV can be seen all around Denver and the metro area. Recent performances include Odyssey Beerwerks and Arvada Tavern in Arvada\, and City Star Brewing in Berthoud. Vern has been busy practicing and arranging tunes for the VNV and is excited to be joined onstage by his beautiful wife\, Miss Tara Neeley. Tara is an accomplished instrumentalist and music educator. DESCRIPTION:Mike Finders is a guitarist\, bandleader\, singer\, entertainer\, educator in his multi-decade career in story and song.  For the last fifteen years he has toured Colorado and the West with his bluegrass band\, FY5\, as well as his blues band\, Spidercat.  He is a two-time winner of the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest in Wilkesboro\, NC\, and his songs are regularly played not only on syndicated and public radio\, but also at jams around campfires at bluegrass festivals across the west.  In between his band endeavors\, one of Mike’s favorite things to do is perform solo or duo. \nMike is focused on providing entertainment for crowds ranging from busy bar rooms to attentive folk enthusiasts.  He has hundreds of songs in his repertoire and is able to pull ones to fit the occasion and room.  His singing is authentic\, familiar\, and nuanced as one might expect a veteran folk performer to sing\, while his guitar playing is suited to match the singer and song\, with flourishes of blues and bluegrass licks to showcase his chops.  Always ready to include stories with his songs\, Mike is a gifted MC\, and can bring the room together with an affable and humorous delivery.
