Bonnie Sims sang as soon as she could walk and talk, and has been onstage that long. Her father, Mike Cruciger, was a career musician in Texas when she was growing up, and gave Bonnie her first guitar at age 12. She picked up the mandolin at 14 and attended South Plains College where she earned Best Female Vocalist both years she attended and Best Female Instrumentalist her final year. In addition to the accolades and education she received at SPC, with a double major in mandolin and vocals, she also met her husband and musical partner, Taylor Sims. Her dreams include playing onstage at the Grand Ole Opry, hugging Dolly Parton very tightly and singing everyday, no exceptions.
Taylor Sims, an accomplished guitar player and songwriter in his own right, is the lead guitar player and other lead vocalist in Bonnie & the Clydes. He also contributes many of the original songs that define Bonnie & the Clydes unique sound. After 10 years with his first project, Spring Creek, Taylor is happy to have joined up with his wife Bonnie full time. Spring Creek saw national success with the simultaneous winning of both the Rockygrass & Telluride Band Competitions and became Rebel Records youngest artists ever signed, as well as the first band to be signed west of the Mississippi.
