Elio Schiavo gives his unique voice to the bluegrass genre. His talents as a singer, mandolin player and songwriter are becoming recognized throughout the national community and after spending time as a central figure in New York’s exploding scene as a member of Six Deadly Venoms, whose credits include; finalist 2009 Telluride band contest, finalist 2009 Rockygrass band contest, Finalist 2012 Freshgrass band contest, and as host of what has become one of the best weekly picking sessions in the country, The Monas’ Monday Night Bluegrass Session, Elio moved to Colorado in January 2016, where he is finishing up and soon to release a new solo album; After The Fall. The record is Co-produced by IBMA award winning mandolinist Matt Flinner and has a roster of players including Ross Martin, Ryan Cavanaugh, Billy Cardine, James Genus, Brittany Haas and Jordan Tice. The album highlights Elio’s soulful voice and his ability to infuse his many musical influences into creatively relevant lyrics and melodies based in a good ol’ bluegrass setting…… sort of. There are string quartets, R n B-ish backup vocals and dynamic arrangements that are groovy and emotional. Not to mention a S#*! ton of seriously amazing playing.
